MENS YOUTH 2-
Thursday in Sarasota brought the full Nationals experience: fast racing, tough competition, and plenty of Florida weather.
The Men’s Youth 2- was first up and raced on schedule this morning. It was a very competitive field, and while the result was not what the guys were hoping for, heads are held high, and they are looking forward to putting together a strong performance in the upcoming D Final.
MENS U17 2X
The Men’s U17 2x had a very strong race, placing 9th in the time trial and earning a spot in the semifinals. Those watching the action on OVERNGHT saw Johnny & Cam nearly close the gap on the crew starting ahead of them. They came off the water thrilled to have the opportunity to race in tomorrow’s semi final race and a chance at the A Final.
Weather Woes
The Florida weather had the final say later in the day, with lightning storms keeping both OAR 4x crews off the water. Those time trials have now been moved to tomorrow (Friday), along with several other rescheduled races.
MENS U17 4X
The Men’s U17 4x had a very strong race, placing with a tie for 7th and 8th place.
WOMENS U17 4X
The Women's U17 4x rowed an amazing race, placing in the C Final!
Continued Weather Woes
While we didn't get soaked like yesterday, the threat of thunderstorms within 10 miles of the race course postponed the semi-finals until tomorrow. Looks like an early, early morning for some rowers.
