ARRIVAL
Most youth rowers should plan to be at the park Sunday, March 22 by 6:30 AM. This is why you need to catch the 5:55 ferry.
The following rowers can take the 6:45 ferry since races are later: Sara Lipowski, Phoebe Winter, Trystan Owen, Andrew DeWitt, Ellis Young, Heileen Halia, Lydia Winton and Elliot Clifthome.
If for some reason your car does not make the ferry, please send your rower on the ferry to find a ride with someone! Carpooling is encouraged as wait times getting off the island can be long...
Trailer loading immediately following races. All athletes expected to remain until loading is complete and released by the head coach.
TRAILER UNLOADING after the regatta is planned for Monday practice, 4-6 pm.
This will be a water launch—there is no dock, you will walk into the rocky Puget Sound in water shoes, so bring extra socks.
Make sure to bring the following:
racing uni
extra warm clothes, especially if raining-plan to have an extra dry set of clothes for after racing (arrive dressed to race and wearing layers over top of your uni)
extra socks
water shoes (like Crocs or slides)
splash jacket or raincoat
warm jacket
warm hat
hat with visor
headlamp
chair
blanket
watch
sunscreen
sunglasses
your wrench
binoculars
favorite race day meals, snacks & WATER (NO FOOD OR DRINKS WILL BE PROVIDED FOR THIS RACE)
SHUTTLE
The organizers are offering shuttles from the ferry docks (south and north end) to help alleviate some of the travel times getting off the island at the end of the day. The shuttles will run a few runs in the morning and then continuously throughout the afternoon. Shuttle fee is $10 for the day, seats can be reserved on the morning shuttles for $5 in advance. Seats are limited, LINK FOR RESERVATIONS COMING SOON.
PARKING
There will be street parking around the Burton Loop and some parking available on a first come, first served basis at Camp Burton. Carpooling is HIGHLY encouraged. This is a residential neighborhood, please keep driveways clear and be mindful of yards and landscaping. Please do not park in front of mailboxes or on drainage pipes. It is suggested that drivers also take care to note the ditches when parking along the roadway, some are hidden by overgrowth. We also ask that you remind your teams and supporters that their respectful behavior in the early morning hours is much appreciated. For your safety and the safety of regatta and non-regatta drivers on the loop please walk against traffic so that oncoming drivers (and you) can see one another.
FOOD
Rowers and families will be responsible for all main meals, snacks and COFFEE!
In previous years there was a food truck serving sandwiches, but we have not heard if that is happening so come prepared!
